- Organising Committee
- The Championship shall be organized by Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC).
- Championship Format
- 2.1 All events shall be conducted based on multi-disability time final.
- 2.2 All participants should be 10 years old and above.
- 2.3 No minimum qualifying standards but all participants shall be competent in their respective events.
- 2.4 The Championship shall be run under the IPC SWIMMING RULES 2005 – 2008 (s1 - s13): except, where appropriate international technical rules of the particular disabilities (ISMWSF, ISOD, CP-ISRA, IBSA, INAS-FMH and ICSD) shall apply
- 2.5 Functional classification for the IPC Swimming will be used.
- 2.6 Opting to participate in a higher division may be allowed with prior permission obtained from the Organising Committee.
- 2.7 The promoter reserves the right to combine events depending on the number of entries.
- 2.8 Please refer to Event Information attached for the complete series of events offered and classification of swimmers.
- 2.9 Participants are encouraged to take part in the National Swimming Championships 2008 in order to be short-listed and / or be selected into the development programme or the future National Team for international competitions.
- Rules Governing Entries
- 3.1 All entry forms shall be filled online on rjcat’s website (http://www.sdsc.rjcat.net/national-swimming-championships-2008). A password will be issued to all invited schools and organisations.
- 3.2 Only events stated in the official entry forms through the website will be offered.
- 3.3 All entries must be submitted via the online registration on the SDSC website.
- 3.4 Each participant is allowed to a maximum of 3 individual events and 4 relay events.
- 3.5 The closing date for all entries shall be on Friday, 31st May 2008
- 3.6 Officers-in-charge and Team Leaders shall highlight any discrepancies or irregularities in the listed event during the Technical Meeting prior to the Championships. There shall be no further change to the event lists after the Technical Meeting.
- 3.7 The above-mentioned Technical Meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, 24 June 2008, 7:00pm at Singapore Sports Council Building.
- 3.8 A penalty fee of SGD50.00 will be imposed for any late entries/registrations and/or missed dateline.
- The Start
- 4.1 The one start rule shall be applied to all IPC Swimming competitions.
- 4.2 A swimmer may be permitted to start beside the starting platform.
- 4.2 A swimmer with a lower limb disability may be permitted to take up a sitting position on the starting platform.
- Competition Arena
- 5.1 Only competitors who are scheduled for a particular event shall be allowed to enter the pool for that event.
- 5.2 Coaches shall be allowed in the competition arena with competitors until the starter calls for a start, when all coaches shall immediately leave the arena.
- 5.3 Only Officials on duty shall be allowed to remain in the arena.
- Procedure on Reporting to the Competitors' Stewards
- 6.1 Liaison officers or appointed representatives are responsible for marshalling the competitors to the competitors’ stewards.
- 6.2 Competitors must report immediately to the competitors' steward or call-up area without delay once their events are due to be called.
- 6.3 All competitors of each event will be called 5 events before the event is scheduled to commence. All liaison officers and appointed representatives may refer to the event notice board to find out the event that is being called at any time.
- 6.4 Competitors who do not report after 3 repeated calls for an event would be excluded from the event and shall be indicated as DNS (did not start). Competitors who report after the next event is called will not be allowed back into the event unless they are involved in another event or in prize giving when the event is announced.
- 6.5 No competitor shall report directly to the starter.
- Results of the meet
- 7.1 The final competition results shall be time-based. Hence, there shall be no heats for all. The champion/winners shall be determined by the percentage of National Records for each class achieved/recorded.
- 7.2 Results of the meet will be posted on the results' notice board as and when they become available. No competitor, liaison officer or representative shall approach the meet officials for results.
- Prizes
- 8.1 Prizes for each completed event will be presented soon upon completion of the last event for the day. All medallists are requested to report to the Medal Ceremony holding area immediately after being advised by liaison officers or Prize Steward. If competitors are required to report to the Competitors Marshall, a representative shall collect the prize on behalf of the competitor.
- Protest
- 9.1 Any technical protest or objection by a competitor or team against the conduct, eligibility or placing of another competitor or team, shall be made to the Meet Director within thirty [30] minutes following the conclusion of the respective event together with a deposit of fifty Singapore dollars [$50]. Only the responsible team leader shall lodge the protest. A Jury Panel shall resolve such protests, and its decision shall be final.
